Warm Audio is a relatively new brand on the Pro Audio scene, yet over the last few years it’s a Brand we have come to know very well.
Warm Audio was founded in 2011 and saw an opportunity to design a product that was reasonably priced yet still retained a high quality. Their first product was the WA-12 half rack preamp. This unit was instantly recognisable due to its bright orange faceplate. The WA12 was a preamp that provided home and project studio engineers and producers the ability to pull a professional sound while not dipping too heavily into their studio kit budget. Using USA made CineMag premium grade input and output transformers the WA12 was an instant hit. Warm Audio have gone on to use these transformers in all their subsequent products. This is what sets them aside from other brands in the same price point.
Following on from the WA-12 and the TB-12 (Tone Beast) Preamps, Warm Audio embarked on faithful recreations of classic compressors and EQ. The WA-76 FET compressor was an instant hit and so to was the EQP-WA Pultec Style Tube EQ. Warm Audios build quality is great and the sound is incredible given RRP. These units found their way into a range of studios and at a fraction of the cost became the go to studio tools for someone who couldn’t afford, or find the original item.
Warm Audio is a company on the move. They recently moved into recreating some of the most sort after studio condenser microphones, the WA-87 and WA-14.
Given Warm Audio’s track record for growth I hazard a guess they have big plans for new products in the near future. What will these be? I guess we’ll all have to sit back and wait – but I doubt we will have to wait long.
